Who am I?

Hi, I am Naz`, you can find me on Undernet, in #irchelp, usually after the second week of the month when I start to forget my phone bills ;-).

Couple of months ago I knew nothing about IRC until I discovered mIRC. I believe its a great chat client. I soon learned that it is very easy to customize and configure mIRC to my needs. My intention is, to pass my limited knowelage of mIRC to you, in such a way, which will make you think, and not be a passive reader. So please no script questions, I don't even know how to write one.

I would strongly advise you take any suggestions made here with caution (remember the word backup). Everything mentioned here have been tested with mIRC5.xx, so far they have worked for me, but have in mind that I am just a newbie. I would appreciate any comments or ideas.

  What is mIRC?

Remember mIRC is a client for Windows 3.x and Windows 95 only.

As I said earlier, mIRC is a chat client. You use mIRC to get onto IRC ( Internet Relay Chat). To understand what IRC is think of highways (servers), which connects different cities (Channels) together. But to get on a highway you need a car (Client). Well mIRC is a client. The only difference is that mIRC is not an American or Japanese car. It is European. . So remember to pay your Road Tax, or even Motor Tax.

  Pay your Tax

The good thing with mIRC is that you pay only once, it's not like every goverment tax, that you have to pay every year :).

You can download the latest mIRC 16bit for Windows 3.x or 32bit for Windows95 install it and be online in a couple of minutes. But remember mIRC is shareware, of course you can find a crack for it but what for? You can still use mIRC without registering it, but then, how would you feel, using a program which gives you so much joy and satisfaction and not own it.

If you're a newbie or an IRC addict, you should pay you're tribute to Khaled Mardam-Bey.
The easiest way is to send him $20 to register you're mIRC. Don't forget that you are using HIS program, for your own satisfaction. Khaled Mardam-Bey probably has spend hours, days or even a whole lifetime for this program. Just imagine how you would have felt, if mIRC was your own creation.

The mIRC toolbar at the top, is an image map. You can click on any button and it will give you basic information, actually a bit more than basic. To get more tips click on any subject on the left.
ooops I think I said that before :)
So what are you waiting for?
